CPE Recertification
CPE certification is effective for ten years. Like clinical boards that require re-certification to verify continued expertise in your field, the CCMM By-Laws (section 5.5 written in 1997) require Certified Physician Executives to re-certify after ten years to maintain their CPE status. However, you will never be required to recertify if you become a Fellow of ACPE.
For those physicians certified between 1997 and 2007, we are extending a grace period of ten years as we did not make clear the recertification requirement during your Tutorial.
Recertification: $600 fee
Become formally recertified by submitting the following to CCMM:
-
A 5-minute video describing your accomplishments over the past 10 years with a particular emphasis on the past 3-5 years. (i.e., how you have contributed to the improvement of your organization or its products in ways that have enhanced patient care. using numbers whenever possible}.
-
A letter attesting to the accomplishments described in your video and signed by your immediate supervisor.
-
A 2-page description of how you have counseled or mentored a younger physician about the future of health care and medical management.
ACPE Fellowship: $100 application fee
Become an ACPE Fellow and you will never be required to recertify because of your significant achievements to the field of medical management. Learn more about ACPE Fellowship.
The deadline for submission of your Fellowship Application is December 31.
